Eugenia Tomasini earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences specializing in Inorganic, Analytical, and Physical Chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in 2010 and is currently a Researcher at National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). Since 2024, she has been the Coordinator of the Laboratory of Analytical Techniques and Imaging at Centre for Research in Art, Matter, and Culture (Centro MATERIA), National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF).
She was a research fellow at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (2011) and later conducted a research stay at the IBeA Group (UPV/EHU) in 2019. Since 2021, she has directed the program Development of Methodologies for the Analysis of Cultural Heritage through Non-Invasive Techniques.
Her research focuses on the integration of spectroscopic and imaging techniques within an interdisciplinary framework, emphasizing non-invasive analysis, technology transfer, and sustainability in heritage science. She was a faculty member in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (UBA) for nearly 20 years and is currently a professor in the Ph.D. program in History and Comparative Theory of Art (UNTREF). She has published and presented her research internationally in chemistry, cultural heritage science, art history, and archaeology.
